Treasury and the main coin

Halo's 0.25% of volume buys and burns the main coin through the same automatic process.

Halo keeps 0.25% of the trading volume on every coin. That treasury share is spent on one thing: buying the main coin and burning what is bought. The main coin is launched on Halo itself, so its own trading pays the same fees as any other coin and also feeds its own burn share.

How it works

  1. Collect. The treasury share arrives with the rest of Halo's partner fees. Each claim is split, and about 33.4% of it (0.25 out of 0.7488) is added to the treasury reserve.
  2. Buy. When the treasury reserve reaches 0.01 SOL, Halo swaps it for the main coin. Before the main coin graduates the swap goes against its DBC pool; afterwards it goes through Jupiter to the DAMM v2 pool.
  3. Burn. The tokens bought are burned with the standard SPL burn instruction, which reduces the supply permanently and is visible on chain.

This is the same buy and burn step that every coin's own burn share uses, described in Buyback and burn. The only difference is which coin it buys: a coin's own share buys that coin, and the treasury share buys the main coin.

The treasury starts buying once the main coin's address is configured. Until then the treasury reserve simply accumulates.

Limits

The treasury share promises no price for the main coin. A buyback adds demand, and the price also depends on everything else that trades the coin. The share is spent only on buying and burning the main coin, and Halo will say so if that changes.

The main coin

The main coin is created through the same launch flow, curve and fee settings as every other coin, with no special allocation. Its address will be published when it launches. Until then this page names no token.
