Tokenomics of coins
Supply, decimals, authorities and where every token sits at each stage of a coin's life.
Every coin launched on Halo has the same token design. Nothing about it is chosen per launch, which is the point.
| Property | Value |
|---|---|
| Total supply | 1,000,000,000 tokens |
| Decimals | 6 |
| Token standard | SPL Token |
| Supply | Fixed at launch; no mint authority exists, and buybacks only ever reduce it by burning |
| Metadata | Immutable once created |
| Team or creator allocation | None |
| Vesting | None |
The DBC SDK only allows a mint authority on transfer-hook configurations. Halo's configuration is a plain SPL token, so no mint authority exists and the supply cannot grow after launch. The metadata authority option is set to immutable, so the name, symbol and image cannot be changed later either.
Where the tokens are
| Stage | Where the 1B tokens sit |
|---|---|
| At launch | All in the pool's token vault |
| During the curve | The part sold to buyers is in their wallets; the rest stays in the vault |
| At graduation | 708M are in holders' wallets; 292M go to the DAMM v2 pool with the 120 SOL |
| After graduation | Liquidity in the pool is permanently locked |
A creator who wants tokens buys them from the curve like anyone else. There is no free allocation, so the share of supply any wallet holds comes from trades that anyone can read on chain.
Metadata files
The coin's image and metadata JSON are stored by Halo under content-addressed names and served with immutable caching. Wallets and explorers read them from the token's metadata URI. The files are not edited after launch.
